Tags: okay, so i love the nuances of their interactions, kamet acting like an abused puppy even though he doesn't realize he is, we don't get a lot of his body language as he is the narrator but i bet he isn't aware of how subservient it is due to how long he has used, then you've got costis who doesn't really respect authority figures and gives respect as it is earned, to have someone being as subservient as Kamet must make him extremely uncomfortable., all he wants to do is protect people but instead he has to deal with Kamet tip toeing around him, So... I don't think Costis was actually angry but especially not at Kamet, if anyone he was angry at the idea of slaves in general and was extremely uncomfortable as he tried to know how to deal with being treated l, like that and dealing with it without hurting Kamet more, oh... let it be known that I read this book in a totally platonic way although I know others did not, as much my interpretations will be from a platonic view point, that is all, tatspoilers, tat, kamet, costis, fanart, queen's thief
