This post was a direct result of some of @iridescentfeline‘s questions about my last post. (by the way thank you so much for your interest in her!) This character’s name is Aileir Diamond Dragon... for now.

Current canon is that she has complete control over her changes. So, if she wants to grow just claws she can. If she wants to form a band of scales on her arm... she can. The caveat is that any transformations have to look like the equivalent anatomy of her dragon form (same color and type of scale etc.)

In that vein, if she wanted, she could transform into her dragon form in the gory werewolf style - bone by bone and scale by scale. But also has the option of a fast change from one form to the other. (I hope that answers your question?)

Also when her slit eyes dilate she has legit anime eyes. lol

Tags: original, also thinking about wings... basically she would have to have a second ball joint on her scapula, that would mean extra branches of the trapezius and new deltoid and rotator cuff-like muscles, at the very least, i haven't thought through all the implications for anatomy of arms and wings, i have realized that i take things very literally, so when i attempt to draw a human with wings one of my first thoughts is the logistics of anatomy, and if both the wings and the arms share the scapula that implies that they would not work independently of each other, or at least not fully, so that would result in some really weird mirroring between arms and wings, hmmmm, i'll have to figure out if the dragon form just has two scapulae or if this movement pattern is also present in dragons..., wow i'm a nerd., why am i like this, q4u, original art, diamond, fae
