Another story idea that is mostly vibes and a premise.

Basically, it is a zombie story where the only way to prevent being turned into a zombie is to amputate the limb that the zombie bit. After the first scare, the zombies are quarantined fairly easily. However, some people in power want to quarantine those who were bit as well, even if they didn't turn.

So everyone who was bitten or 'looked like they could have been bitten' (and doesn't have the privilege to buy their way out of it) are quarantined near or with the zombies.

I vacillate between wanting there to be zombie chase scenes (hence Angel's prosthetic type) and focusing on them creating a isolated solarpunk society.

This concept has been in my head for like ten years and has morphed a lot. But right now the main trio is

Angel (he/him lesbian with a below the knee amputation - I'm thinking from an infected dog)

Trinity (MC and ex-cheerleader with a below the elbow amputation, she/her)

Jacob (punk with a SCI from a car crash but public fervor didn't care and shoved him in with the rest of the bite-survivors)

I think about them a lot. Hopefully one day I can write their story.
